Privacy Policy

TennisFinder ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Name — provided when you sign in with Apple. You may share your real name or Apple's auto-generated name.
• Email address — Apple Sign-In may provide a real or anonymized relay email address. We store whichever Apple gives us and use it only to identify your account.
• Skill level — NTRP rating you select during onboarding (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Expert).

Location Information

• Home area / zip code — set during onboarding to find courts near you. Stored as a general geographic area, not a precise address.
• Device location (GPS) — requested only when you submit a play request ("Find a Game"). Used in real time to match you with nearby players. Not stored long-term.

Play Activity

• Play requests — when you tap "Find a Game," we record your availability, skill level, preferred courts, and audience setting (anyone or friends only). This information is shared with other users in your area to facilitate matching.
• Match history — records of confirmed matches, including date, time, and participants.
• Court preferences — courts you select when submitting a play request.

Usage Data

• App interactions (screens visited, features used) collected in aggregate. We do not build individual behavioral profiles.
• Device type, iOS version, and crash reports for debugging purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Match you with tennis players of similar skill level and location who are available to play.
• Show your availability to other users when you submit a play request.
• Recommend nearby tennis courts.
• Send push notifications about match offers, confirmations, and updates (only if you grant notification permission).
• Improve app functionality and fix bugs.

We do not use your data for advertising, sell your data to third parties, or use it for any purpose not listed here.

3. Information Shared with Other Users

When you submit a play request, other users nearby will see:

• Your first name (or Apple-provided display name)
• Your skill level (NTRP range)
• Your general location (city/neighborhood — never your GPS coordinates)
• Your preferred courts (if specified)
• Whether you want to play with anyone or friends only

Your email address is never shared with other users.

5. Data Retention

• Play requests — automatically expire and are deleted 24 hours after they are submitted or cancelled, whichever comes first.
• Match history — retained for 12 months, then deleted.
• Account data — retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

6. Your Rights

Delete your account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and takes effect within 30 days. This also removes your data from Supabase.

Access or export your data

To request a copy of your data, email us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

Opt out of notifications

You can disable push notifications at any time in iOS Settings → TennisFinder → Notifications.

California residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. California residents may request access to, deletion of, or information about their personal data by contacting us.

European users (GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us below. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (given when you sign in) and legitimate interest (providing the matchmaking service you requested).

7. Children's Privacy

TennisFinder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

Your data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Supabase with row-level security policies. Access is restricted to authenticated users and their own data. We do not store passwords (authentication is handled by Apple).

9. Changes to This Policy

We will post any updates to this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notification.
